Giordano Bruno University. Headquartered in Budapest, Hungary, it was founded in 2010 as the educational branch of the Club of Budapest with philosopher Ervin Laszlo at the helm. Based on a new pedagogy, it offered an interdisciplinary, humanistic education globally with on-line delivery at the lowest possible private school cost. Unique to its design, human evolutionary history was a required program of study. Its purpose was: to prepare the largest possible number of learners to evolve their consciousness, develop new-thinking, and change themselves so they can change the world. This project ceased operations in 2015. Its founder’s energies have been redirected to an emerging project by the Club of Budapest in conjunction with Goi Peace Foundation and GAIA Global University. The new Laszlo Institute of New Paradigm Research with its physical location in Tuscany, Italy opened in 2015. You may learn more of their new direction at: http://www.laszloinstitute.com
SEED Graduate Institute. Located in Albuquerque, NM, USA, founded by Glenn Aprichio Perry with the support of Leroy Little Bear in 1997. Privately owned, it offered classes and an annual conference. Its vision was based on Native American wisdom employing deep dialog. In 2013 it acquired high desert property near Taos, NM, on which to construct its biophilic campus and realize its potential as a degree granting university. Modest fees were charged for services offered. Its purpose was to provide the highest quality education bringing together diverse ways of knowing and dialog for the purpose of fostering original thinking that is increasingly interconnected, whole, wise and effective. Its greatest contribution may be awareness of the necessity of Native American wisdom in creating education that is responsive to the needs of today’s learners. The 2013 Wisdom of the Ancients Conference became the institute’s final event. It has since closed.
